Josie Natory, CEO of The Natori Company believes that there is no better place in the world for an immigrant to succeed in the world than in the U.S. She wants other immigrants to know that they should “follow their dreams and make it happen.” She did. When she moved to the United States from the Philippines, she was determined to make it and started her own business after her son was born.
The Natori Company is a women’s fashion designer and manufacturer based in New York. The company sells lingerie, sleepwear, lounge wear and other high-end women’s fashion to upscale department stores in the U.S. and across at least 15 countries internationally. In addition, the company expanded into the home furnishings industry, and has recently signed a licensing deal to sell Natori perfume.
Her company generates $150,000 million dollars a year now that it has also partnered with Target to offer lower-budget sleepwear lines.
A self-made millionaire, Josie Natori believes that a large part of her success comes from her immigrant status which she views as an asset rather than an obstacle. Her company and designs have thrived because of her unique integration of East-meets-West aesthetics.
