Although Wall Street has made a lot of money for many people and continues to have paychecks that are way beyond the national average, the following list does not include executives from the financial district! Instead there are three from the healthcare sector, two from fashion houses, one from real estate, one from entertainment, one from internet travel, one from advertising and one from oil and gas.
We’ll start the list with John Hammergren, 52, the CEO of pharmaceutical company McKesson who earns $1.2 billion. His company is on the rode to even more revenue and profit if President Obama’s health care program will be enacted due to increased contracts.
The man behind Ralph Lauren has a fashion line that represents classic America but you can bet that his salary is nothing but average with increased sales and the creation of many new lines and companies. Mr. Lauren, 72, is one of the highest earning American CEOs with a salary of $66.7million and yearly revenues of $630million. Not bad for someone who started out with a simple dream to dress his fellow countrymen.
Michael Fascitelli of New Jersey-based real estate firm Vornado Realty has paychecks of $64.4 million, which is not bad considering that the real estate market is still down and a “buyers market” in America.
Robert Iger, 60, who was partly responsible for buying Apple’s Pixar business, earns a nice paycheck as the CEO of the Walt Disney Company. While he earns more than $50 million a year, he continues the expansion mission of the company which is no longer limited to a theme park but has spread into movies, travel and a wide variety of entertainment activities.
